Today Anouk come into our class to support our school to understand the importance of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. The children were able to identify objects that could go into each category.
The class went out and found bits of rubbish from around the school. We Talked about what they found and then they sorted rubbish that Anouk had brought along to class .

The sun is shining and the water is so warm. The children are really enjoying being able to swim every afternoon.
Miss Stewart came into Team Maunga Iti on the first day of school to talk to our class about recycling and how to use the different bins we have in our class. We have a paper and cardboard bin. We have to put paper that has been used on both sides into this bin. We learnt that we do not screw the paper up, instead, we make the paper flat and add to the bin. If the paper has only been used on one side we put it into the recycle paper tray. The next bin is called the landfill bin and this is where all the things that can not be recycled go. The last bin is for used tissues.
